The technical bulletin on tunnel coatings was created by updating the \u201cCoatings for Tunnel Inner Shells\u201d (2004) bulletin. The new European code of practice is lent particular consideration for instance in assessing the fire behaviour of construction materials.<\/p>

Topical examples from practical use are also contained in the new bulletin. Essential novelties include the introduction of an approval criterion for on-site application of the technical properties of the tunnel coating (LRV \u2013 Light Reflection Value) and for the first time a description of special systems.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Dirt, dust, exhaust gases, wear material, salt, moisture, and frost damage insufficiently protected concrete surfaces in tunnels and underpasses and make carbonatation unstoppable.<\/p>

The fouled surfaces also require brighter lighting at higher costs to maintain traffic safety inside the building structure.<\/p>

Today, the restoration and preservation of these structures are a substantial and expensive cost factor for the community.<\/p>

A long-life, white or bright POWER-COLLOID coating durably protects the concrete, is easy to clean and saves a lot of energy as well as renovation costs. A high-pressure or low-pressure coating can be specified and applied to deal with specific levels of fouling.<\/p>
